We are so thrilled that Evie now has her very own "Grandma Blanket", handmade by my mom. When I, my brother and my sisters were young, we were each given a blanket, lovingly crocheted by our Grandma. Each of them are different colors (there were 10 of us grandchildren, so no small feat), and we called them our "Grandma Blankets". Evie's blanket is so soft and warm and really quite beautiful. We just know that she will love and treasure it always. Aren't these kind of traditions wonderful?
...I am so glad that I have at least 25 years to learn how to crochet.

Our Bubble Baby
I'm very excited about this new wind/rain/cold-weather canopy that Kevin & Sabrina got us for Evie's stroller. It will allow us to still take long walks even as the weather changes, and the kiddo doesn't seem to mind it at all.
Also, you can't tell from the photos but I can assure you (Joe) there is plenty of ventilation, plus the material is BPA and PVC free, (in case it looks like we're putting a plastic bag over our baby).

Evelyn Turns 4 Months Old!
According to What To Expect The First Year, the fourth month is the beginning of "what might be considered the golden age of babyhood--a period of several enchanted months". And sure enough, we have been completely blown away by the changes we've seen in our little Evie over just the last week. She has started falling asleep easier and staying asleep longer. And she seems so much happier during the day--more content, more relaxed. She coos and even laughs now and then. She's started what we think sounds like complaining with her mouth closed (which becomes annoying after awhile), but we are thrilled to be done with the long periods of unexplained crying. Everything has become infinitely easier and more enjoyable. Amazing.

A Tiny Wagon
Kevin & Sabrina saw this wagon at an antique store and thought it was too cute to pass up.
Also, Evie enjoys supported standing more than anything else right now. She just can't wait to be big!

Evelyn & Her Grandpa
As you can see, this is already a very special relationship. Joe took these photos and I just love them.

Evie Meets Her Uncle Kevin & Aunt Sabrina
Uncle Kevin & Aunt Sabrina came all the way from Singapore just to meet our little Evie. Okay maybe not just to meet her, but we are so happy that they are here in Kansas for the next several weeks.
Evie loved all of the extra attention!
We had a picnic lunch outside of the Nelson Atkins Art Museum while they were in Kansas City.
Uncle Kevin must have taught her to do that
We also got to check out the 888 Asian Market
It was kinda like a zoo of live seafood. They even had large softshell turtles (you can purchase by the pound).
