A Birthday Video

A Birthday Celebration with The Kings

Trish, Marshall, Jennifer & Kelsey invited us over on Sunday evening to celebrate Evie's birthday.  Dinner was so delicious, and we had so much fun together!  Evie really enjoyed all of the special attention (which she really gets every time we're with them), her birthday treat, and the new presents.  Thank you guys so much!!!  We love you!!

Evie's Bath Time Fun

Joe normally gives Evie her baths at night, basically because he is more fun.  But I gave her a bath tonight and she was just being so incredibly cute.

Evie's First School Birthday Party

Evie goes to a wonderful little preschool, The Family School, two mornings a week.  Her classroom is about 10 kids and her teachers are really great.  They do lots of fun stuff with the kids and she has learned a lot this year.  For Evie's birthday, her teacher encouraged me to bring a special treat for the kids to celebrate her birthday.  So Henry and I brought in mini cupcakes that we had made for after the kids ate lunch.  Evie was so excited about bringing the cupcakes to school that morning and sharing them with her friends!  They sang her the happy birthday song and had made her a special birthday crown to wear.  It was so unbelievably cute, let me tell you.  Evie asks to bring cupcakes to school every day.

A New Bed for Evie

Well, as much as Evie loved her crib, it was time for a big girl bed.  We were so thankful that Syl & Steve held on to Sophia's toddler bed for us so that Evie could use it.  It is adorable, right?!  We've felt a little anxious about how Evie would accept her new bed, since she sleeps like a college student on-break (seriously, this girl is an awesome sleeper), and we've really enjoyed the fact that she could not get herself out of her crib without us.  But she loved it at first sight and welcomed the change with open arms - she did great!!  She still calls for us in the morning to come in and "let" her get up, and has not once surprised us with a visit in the middle of the night.  What a big girl, we're so proud (and relieved).

As a side note, I really enjoyed making Evie's new bedding.  Her duvet cover used to be a queen-sized duvet cover that we acquired years ago from Staci & Jonathan, who got it from Sabrina & Kevin.  Looks so cute in her room!  And the complete sheet set I sewed from one queen flat sheet that I found at Target, and it's softer than our sheets.  I also made her a set in purple.  So fun!

Henry Turns 5 Months Old!

Our little guy is getting so big!  Henry is such a joy, what a fun baby.  He just loves attention, and wants to be a part of the party at all times.  He's still not sleeping as good as his older sister, and in fact sleeps fewer hours overall than Evie does at 3 years old.  But he is a pretty easy baby, and such a big sweetheart.  He's definitely getting very active, and desperately wants to get moving.  He's pretty strong, and I have no doubt that he will be up crawling in no time.  Henry has already tipped over his bouncy seat, so that's gone now, and is very quick at rolling onto his stomach to play with a toy or just lift his head and kick his legs.  He's also getting very fat and super heavy, haha, chubby babies are the cutest, aren't they?

Evelyn Turns 3 Years Old! [Part 5]

On Sunday evening, we had Joe's family over to our house for dinner to celebrate Evie's birthday.  We had pizza, tomato & basil bruschetta, tortellini, and caesar salad.  As well as mini chocolate cupcakes and more ice cream, of course.  Joe's two nieces brought their boyfriends and a friend, as well.  It was so much fun!  I think even the teenagers had a good time.
