Trick-Or-Treating
Syl, Steve & Sophia joined us on Halloween for dinner and trick-or-treating. The kids really had a lot of fun, loved getting candy, and we really enjoyed watching Henry try to keep up with the girls.
Evie & Henry Halloween Costumes
I've already mentioned the origins of Evie's costume. Henry's costume was Joe's idea - Indiana Jones! I wasn't so sure that we could pull it off, but it actually came together pretty easy. Henry was given a brown suede bomber jacket by Sue that worked perfectly. I found a hat on Etsy. Joe already had this little satchel that I distressed with some sandpaper, and Joe already had the whip as well. (Don't ask, haha). And finally, we already had the snake, which Joe had bought for Evie months ago. Henry looked SO good! Joe snapped these awesome pictures before we headed out for trick-or-treating.
Getting Ready For Halloween
Evie decided that this year she wanted to be a "Queen Doggie" for Halloween. This is her first year to choose her own costume. I have no idea what a "Queen Doggie" is, but this is what we came up with. I altered a dress-up princess dress that Syl had given Evie for her birthday, and attached a tail that I made. We painted her face and bought her some fun costume jewelry. I think she really loved her costume this year. All hail the Queen Doggie!

DBG Pumpkin Festival
The Desert Botanical Gardens has a really great pumpkin festival every October. We were thrilled to be able to join our friends Vicki, Ray & Gola this year. We took a hayride out to the "pumpkin patch", where the kids got to choose their own pumpkin. There was a small petting zoo area, which Evie really loved. Evie and Gola also decorated their pumpkins before we headed back to the entrance area where Evie rode a pony. What a fun morning we had!
