Birthday Cupcakes

As I am still intimidated by the task of making an entire cake, I made cupcakes again this year for Evie's birthday.  (Although, we've also not committed to cake for birthdays.  We may switch to pie at some point, because let's face it, pie is just better).

Evie's Birthday Continues

We were thrilled that Joe's Mom and Brian could be here to help us celebrate Evie's birthday.  They graciously had everyone over for a barbecue on Sunday afternoon, and it was a really fun time!  And there were a ton of great photos taken, which is always awesome.

Evie Opens Birthday Presents

For Evie's birthday this year, we decided to spread the festivities out over the whole weekend.  Here are some cute pics of her opening one of her presents from Nana & Papa.

Evie's Second Birthday!!!

Yay, we made it!!  Yay, Evie is turning TWO years old!!

We decided, after our first visit to the Children's Museum, that instead of buying Evie a bunch of presents for her birthday this year, we would buy a membership to the Children's Museum.  Which worked out great, since Evie's birthday was quickly approaching and so was summertime (when it's too hot to play outside much anyway).
And it just so happened that they had extended hours for members on the evening of Evie's birthday.  Perfect, right?  Yep, we had a super fun time and thought it was a great way to spend Evie's birthday.

Tempe Splash Playground

On this particular morning, Evie and I went to check out the Tempe Splash Playground.  (We'd only ever seen it during the winter when it was closed).  Evie had such a fantastic time running around and playing in the water that she didn't even notice that she still had a barrette in her hair.  She only stopped playing when she wanted to take a break for snacks (which was twice during the 90 minutes or so that we were there).

Party Hat!

Evie did this all by herself, and when we saw it, we starting laughing, so she started laughing... she's such a crack-up.
