December Miscellaneous

The weather has been so fantastic this December.  And there are always so many fun and exciting things to do in December.  What a great month it's been!

New Year's Eve

We had a nice, quiet evening at home this year for New Year's Eve.  Before bedtime, we found some shorts on Netflix for kids and watched some fireworks from our living room sofa.  The kids really enjoyed it!

Christmas Evening

Joe's family all got together for the afternoon and evening on Christmas.  Joe & Evie went over to Joe's mom's house in the afternoon.  Henry wasn't feeling very well, so Henry & I joined them after Henry's much needed 3-hour long nap.  We all had a TON of presents to open from everyone!  We ate an early dinner together and played games until bedtime.

Christmas 2015!

We had a really great Christmas morning together!  We made breakfast together, and the kids loved opening presents, of course.  After Evie opened her Angel Barbie present, she asked me to "free her" from her packaging, so funny!  Henry wanted to just play with each toy, and we would have to urge him to open the remaining presents.  What a fun Christmas!

Christmas with the King's & Garsha's

This afternoon, we joined Trish & Marshall, Jennifer, Kelsey, Marian & Rick, and Christine for an early Christmas celebration.  We made a ton of Christmas cookies, enjoyed dinner together, and opened presents.  The kids got some really fun gifts and they also gave us a membership to the Zoo.  Yay!!  It was sun a great evening!!

Zoo Lights!

This was our first year to take the kids to Zoo Lights!  Evie & Henry really had a good time, even though Evie would not stop asking if and when we could see the animals.  We kept explaining that the animals were sleeping, so she suggested "well, we could wake them up!"  So instead, Evie spent about 10 minutes talking to a full-size animatronic giraffe.  The carousel was really fun at night, and all of the lights looked so beautiful.  Joe and I had a really great time too, it was almost romantic, even with the kids in tow.
