Kansas Trip - Part 8
Just a few final photos from the rest of our trip to end this series. We had such a wonderful trip to visit our family in Kansas, and we are always so sad to leave. But we will see you all in December, and Joe will join us too next time! Love you all so very much!!

Kansas Trip - Part 7
On Saturday, we went to the Riverside Park in Independence. It is well worth the hour drive, because this is the best park ever, seriously. It is huge, over 100 acres, and there is a zoo with lots of animals, a very old carousel (rides cost 5 cents), a fantastic miniature train (rides cost 25 cents), and tons of awesome playground equipment (both very old & cool, and new & cool). We had so much fun!! (Except for Henry while he was riding the train, which he definitely did not like for some reason).

Kansas Trip - Part 6
We were so thrilled to have my dear friend, Katherine, and her two kiddos, Mae & Warren, come visit us while we were in Kansas. Joe & I met Katherine and her husband, Kenny, in a birthing class in Kansas City before Evie was born, and we became great friends. Mae was born exactly one month after Evie, and she is such a smart, sweet little girl. We were so grateful that they were willing to travel the two hours to come stay the night at my parent's home. The girls had a fabulous time together feeding the goats, picking tomatoes, and running around in the rain with enormous umbrellas. We adored our time with them!

Kansas Trip - Part 5
While Henry was napping at the house one morning, Mom (aka Nana) and I took Evie to Santa Fe Park in Chanute for a couple of hours. This park has a wonderful old train that you can climb in, lots of cool, old playground equipment (that no longer exist in most parks), and a small lake with ducks. Evie really loved the train and we had so much fun that morning!
I especially love the photo of her on the swings. I took some photos of her in these same swings just over two years ago, and it is so cool to see how much she has changed. (http://www.evelyngraceholt.blogspot.com/2012/06/evie-swinging.html)
