Mall

Just some cute pics of the kids playing at the mall tonight.

First Day of School

Evie is now officially starting Pre-K at The Family School, (although she really transitioned at the start of summer).  We've seen that Evie's growth and development is substantially enhanced by her time at school, so we chose to keep her in school throughout the summer, three mornings a week.  And because she is one of the older kids in her class, she was moved up to the Pre-K class in June with a few other kids.  The summer program was much more relaxed than the rest of the school year, but it gave her plenty of time to adjust to a new classroom, a new teacher, and a new schedule.  But a very new aspect of this school year will be a longer day - Pre-K ends at 2 pm.
Henry is starting school for the first time ever today, also at The Family School.  He'll be going to school three mornings a week until 12 pm.  I am really excited for him because the 2's classroom teacher is so awesome and they have a great program with so many fun activities throughout the year.  I also think that attending school will further his language and communication skills.  (I have to admit though, I am a little nervous because he has a much harder time with separation anxiety).  I am so excited for our kiddos to start this new year, and I know they will love attending school here!

An Evening Out

Yep it's Sunday night so we all went to Goodwill, IKEA, and out for dinner at Grimaldi's Pizzeria tonight.  Here are some cute pics of Henry at Goodwill and IKEA.  It's a shame that adorable jacket was too small for him.

Lunch?

Joe even let the kids stay at the indoor playground for lunch.  Yep, this place even serves food.  It looks like a bunch of chocolate to me, but Joe reassures me there were other food groups consumed.

Indoor Playground

Joe graciously offered to take the kids to an indoor playground this morning.  It was one we had been to a few years ago for Sophia's birthday.  The kids had a ton of fun, and even Joe came home worn out from all of the climbing, crawling and playing.

Ice Cream

Is there anything better?

A New Indoor Play Place

Normally, I try to make Joe take the kids to indoor play places.  But this morning, I thought we would give a new one a try.  Unlike most indoor playgrounds, this one is specifically for small kids (5 & under).  The toys and play equipment were fairly basic, but the kids LOVED it!!  After a couple of hours, I had to drag them out of there (nearly kicking and screaming) so we could go home for lunch and nap time.  We might just have to go back a couple more times before Evie turns 6 next summer.

More Pool Pics

It's almost like we live in the desert, and there is not much else to do outside during the summer but play in the pool.
