December Miscellaneous

Wow, we had such a fun month!  Despite the fact that the kids were sick for a few days, we still managed to participate in a bunch of great holiday events and activities.  Here are some random photos taken throughout the month.

Trip Home

Oh, we had such a hard time saying goodbye today.  We headed to the Wichita airport, and ate an early dinner there before playing in this kids playroom for a little bit before boarding our plane.  I will forever remember to give the kids Dramamine prior to any travel, as it was such a life saver.  The kids were really good on the plane, and at one point Henry crawled up into Joe's lap and fell asleep for about 40 minutes.  All of us were really sad to leave, but we're already making plans for our next trip late spring.  Love you all!

Indoor S'mores

On our last evening, Mom broke out this adorable s'mores kit for the kids.  Joe assisted the kids in their marshmallow roasting effort and they had a great time making and eating their dessert treats.

Chanute Public Library

While Kevin & Sabrina, Staci and I went to check out some very cool vintage cars this afternoon, Joe and Dad took Evie, Henry & Hannah to the library.  The kids had so much fun!

Bikes

Kristyn & Eric brought over a couple of Wyatt's bike for the kids to ride at Mom & Dad's house.  It was cold, but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Gingerbread Houses

Even before our trip started, Evie got it in her head that she REALLY wanted to make a gingerbread house.  So both Sabrina & Kevin and Joe & I purchased kits that were on sale after Christmas.  Sabrina & Kevin's set had a few small, adorable houses, and we bought a couple of big gingerbread house kits.  The adults struggled to assemble the houses, and then the kids gleefully decorated them.  Henry was mostly just interested in eating the candy, but the older kids really got into it.  It was such a great activity for a couple of quiet afternoons at the house.

Isaac's 1st Birthday

We were so thrilled to be able to help celebrate Isaac's first birthday while we were all together for Christmas.  Sabrina made a beautiful cake and adorable cupcakes, and brought lots of decorations for us to help assemble.  It was so sweet watching Isaac eat his first cupcake and open his presents.  What a cutie!
