June Miscellaneous

It's been a fun month!  We had a great time on our trip to Kansas and really enjoyed celebrating Joe and Evie's birthdays.  But much of the month was spent at home, being silly, and trying to stay cool.

Dinner at Trish & Marshall's House

Trish & Marshall invited us over to their house for dinner, swimming, and to celebrate Evie's birthday.  Evie is getting braver and braver in the pool.  Henry can't decide if he wants to be in or out, but quickly tires of his limited mobility in the water.  Dinner was awesome and Evie really enjoyed the continued birthday attention.  It was so fun!!!

Evie's School Birthday

Evie's school allowed us to bring in some special treats to celebrate Evie's birthday.  Evie helped me make some mini cupcakes again this year, and she was thrilled to share them with her class.  Henry and I showed up as the kids were finishing their lunches, and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Evie, and ate cupcakes.  She loved it, of course.  (The adorable little boy in the green shirt is her best friend, Antonio).

Father's Day!

This year, Father's Day also coincided with Evie's birthday.  While Joe selflessly resisted any attempts to distract from Evie's birthday, we managed to carve out a little time to celebrate Daddy this evening.  Evie had made Joe a cute little gift at school, which is super adorable.  And we also gave him a coupon book I had made, expressly gifting him with some uninterrupted time to work in his "man shop".  As well as a cool moon clock, also for his shop.

Evie's Birthday - More Presents!

This morning, we opened a couple more presents for Evie's birthday.  Nana and Papa sent her an awesome desk set that I had had (an older version of) when I was growing up!  She loved it!  Then, Evie changed into the princess dress & boa that Aunt Sue gave her last night.  Finally, we opened up this great blocks set that we purchased as a gift for Evie from Grandma.  I know Joe & the kiddos are going to spend a ton of fun hours building stuff (mostly princess castles) with this set.  Thank you, everyone!!!  Evie loves her gifts!!

Evie's Birthday - Splash Pad!

And now for the real reason we're at the Scottsdale Quarter - SPLASH PAD!  Oh, the kids had so much fun!!  Evie & Sophia loved playing in the splash pad, and Henry just wanted to explore.  After we had had enough of that, we walked around together and looked in a few stores.  It was such a great time!
