February Miscellaneous

We've had a good month, but the kids (and Joe and I) were sick a lot of the time.  It was mostly just viral cold stuff, but it kept the kids up coughing at night and required a bunch of visits to the doctor's office.  We still got out, but had to quarantine ourselves away from friends and family for the most part.  Evie also got head lice for the first time, and lost both of her two front teeth in February.  We're looking forward to everyone feeling good again.

Front Yard Sand Mountain

We had 15 tons of decomposed granite delivered on Monday morning.  A big truck came while the kids were in school, and dumped all of it into the middle of our front yard.  So the kids came home to a new sand mountain - they were so thrilled!  We weren't able to spread it out until Saturday, so they had a few days to play on it.  They had so much fun!!!  (And months later, they will occasionally bring up their disappointment that it's gone now).
I also had a pallet of flagstone delivered on Monday, and I spend a good amount of time working to create a pathway.  It was really fun!  On Saturday, Joe and a friend from work spent a few hours spreading it out over the front and side yards.  We still have a lot of work to do before it looks great, but we're well on our way.

Saturday with Daddy

Joe took the kids out this morning so I could work on our front yard.  He took them to Goodwill, to a restaurant for lunch, and also out for gelato.  Joe's the best!  The kids had so much fun!!

Encanto Park

The kids were out of school today for the holiday, so we went to the park.  We walked around a lot, played on three different playgrounds, watched the ducks, and ate a picnic lunch.  And the weather this morning was so perfect for it.  (Before you freak out, the wall that Henry was walking on was only a short distance above the grass on the backside).

I don't even know where this is, but Joe has been taking the kids out for ice cream on a fairly regular basis.  And the photos are always so great - pure joy!

Also, Evie just lost one of her two front teeth.  It strikes me that it's just as adorable to watch kids lose their baby teeth as it was when they first got them.

Fun in the Backyard

While Evie is in school now 5 days a week, Henry and I still have Tuesday and Thursday mornings together.  This morning, he wanted to swing in the backyard and then play in the sandbox.  So much fun!
