Working The Door

Henry is at that stage where he MUST GET OUTSIDE!!  He wants to be outside whenever possible so he can be exploring the great outdoors.  (I definitely remember when Evie was at the stage).  And he's also learned how to climb on things and work our lever handles.  Here he is standing on a rocking chair, trying to work the door handle and lock so that he can go outside.  Luckily for us, it's an inward swinging door and he hasn't yet figured that part out yet.

An Anniversary Brunch - 6 Years!!

Today, Joe and I celebrated our 6-year wedding anniversary!  Last year, we were moving into our new house, so I can't remember if we made time to celebrate much.  Anyway, this year we decided to celebrate by returning to the Elements Restaurant at the Sanctuary Resort for brunch.  This is where Joe and I had brunch on the morning of our wedding, and it was so wonderful!  Six years later - still wonderful!!  Here are some photos of us today, and some photos of us then (before we got pretty for our wedding).  It's crazy how much life has changed in these last six, sweet years.

New Shoes For Evie

Today Joe took Evie to the StrideRite store at Paradise Valley Mall to buy her some new shoes for school.  And of course, a trip to PV Mall always includes a carousel ride and/or train ride.

Evie's New Kite

The weather this evening was awesome - it cooled off and was windy.  We decided it was a great time to try out Evie's new kite that she got for Easter.  I found this kite online and was super excited because it seemed easy to fly and had no rigid parts to get damaged or injure anyone.  (Joe approves!)  While Joe mostly flew the kite, the kiddos really enjoyed it!

Phoenix Zoo with Mom

This morning, Evie didn't have school so we went to the Phoenix Zoo.  We all had such a fun time, walking around and checking out the animals.  Evie was really loving on the goats, brushing them and giving them hugs and kisses.  It was kinda gross, but mostly adorable.

Desert Botanical Gardens with Mom

This morning, we took Evie to school and then headed over to the Desert Botanical Gardens.  Henry was totally bored sitting in the stroller, but Mom & I had a great time!

Encanto Park

My mom (aka Nana) flew in on Friday night, yay!  And this evening, we decided to go out for dinner and then head over to Encanto Park to enjoy the warm weather.  Evie had a great time riding her bike, taking a spin on the carousel, and playing on the playground.  It was really nice to walk around a bit and we had so much fun watching the kids play!

The Kid's Rocking Chair

Henry has recently found that he loves climbing into Evie's rocking chair.  And for the most part, she has been pretty cool about it.  Truthfully, Evie doesn't sit in it much anymore.  She seems to prefer to sit in big chairs, although she hardly sits for long at all.  Sometimes he stands in it, but he's fallen off a couple of times now so he doesn't do that much anymore, thankfully.
