At Evie's school, they have been doing a series on Space, and Evie is loving it!!! The kids have built a space station out of cardboard boxes and other recyclables, frequently play with stomp rockets on the playground, built a large solar system for the classroom, conducted the mentos + diet coke 2-liter rocket blast experiment, taste-tested astronaut food, and have done countless other space-related activities and lessons. Evie comes home super jazzed about space, declares that Saturn is her favorite planet, and asks Daddy if they can go to space and Saturn repeatedly. It has been so awesome!
The small school doesn't do the typical field trips during the school day, but occasionally makes arrangements for students and parents to participate in a special trip together. This weekend, they went to the Arizona Science Center to watch a show at the planetarium, check out the exhibits, and share a picnic lunch together on the lawn. Joe took Evie, and they had a really, really fun time!!
