Adventuring Downtown

The kids are officially out of school for about 3 weeks, before they start their summer programs.  And I thought it would be fun to hop on the light rail and go downtown to a park for the morning.  They enjoyed the ride, and we got off at a stop in front of a coffee shop.  After buying some yummy cookies, we trekked over to the park.  It was super hot, the playground equipment was hot, and there were no other kids anywhere to be seen.  Anyway, they ate up all the cookies, and played for a little while.  On the way back to the train stop, I thought we might be able to walk through the Japanese Friendship Garden (which we had never been to).  We found out that we could purchase bags of fish food for the koi!  So we wandered in with our fish food, and were immediately greeted by a bunch of ducks, mostly baby ducklings (so cute!).  Evie and Henry really enjoyed feeding the koi and the ducks, and exploring the garden.  The garden is AMAZING!  It is not that big, but everything is so beautiful and very serene.  The kids didn't want to leave, but it was lunchtime, and they were starting to get tired and really crazy.  We had so much fun, and can't wait to visit the garden again!
